    Nonlinear regression

    Hi

In Clementine, whether nonlinear regression (curve fitting) can be preformed or not. If so what is the procedure to be followed.

    Thanks

    Re: Nonlinear regression

    hi,

it is better to use SPSS Base and Regression module than Clem.

Clem does not have lagrange (or) Newton method for optimization.

I think Clem cannot perform nonlinear regression.

    Re: Nonlinear regression

    clementine does have Logistic regression.

    Re: Nonlinear regression

    Hi

    Thanks for the reply.

Logistic regression is available in clementine 11.1 and 12.

Nonlinear regression refers to the relationship between dependent variable and independent variable of numeric fields,

If there is a linear relationship it forms a linear line we can perform linear regression.

if the relationship is other than linear such parabolic curve, exponential curve, how clementine can handle this kind of issue.

    Thanks

    Re: Nonlinear regression

    hi,

If  you refer to curve fitting as Excel does have at graph?
I am not sure Clem can handle curve fitting in graph nodes.
I sometimes use SPSS node at clem to run SPSS syntax with curve fit.

If you refer to non linear regression, I think Clem does not have non-linear regression node.
But, SPSS Base with Regression module can handle it with non-linear regression with constraint values.
