Hi everyone, I have an AMD X2 4200+ with the optimizer installed, and I have noticed Clementine sometimes uses both cores and sometimes it doesn't. It is quite annoying because when using both the processing speed literally doubles.

 A PC / Clementine reboot sometimes fixs this, but why does it happen?

I do not know why it happens.

You can modify 'options.cfg' for setting single process running.

1. Find options.cfg at directory you installed Clem.

2.Open options.cfg.

3. Find 'max_parallelism

4. Set '1' for running single process.

5. Save options.cfg

6. Start clem and try to check clem running single process.

If you get same problem, contact with SPSS tech support in your country.

P.S. check your OS and AMD's optimizer. SPSS may not support the AMD's optimizer running with Clem.

it sounds to me you want to use 2 cores at all times:0

is it task dependant or randomly when things you don't like happen? Some task may choose to use only one core and the reason may well be the nature of such task. I guess Clementine support can answer your question.

 hunterdong: now for example Clementine decided to use two cores. I guess it's random... I really don't know... if I notice a patron then I'll post it. Maybe I could build a model predicting when my stream will use my two cores  (cheap data miner jokes)

I guess that if I can't fix it I will just have to run two or more processes at once.
